Thank you to our 2020 Honorees, Bryan and Kimberly Carlisle!

Bryan’s battle with cancer began in September 2017 when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He went through eight rounds of chemotherapy, but the tumor on his colon would not shrink. In March 2018, Bryan had a complete colorectal removal surgery and was cancer free…for a month.

Bryan’s cancer had returned, but this time in the lymph nodes of his back, requiring another six rounds of chemotherapy. At the same time, Bryan’s wife Kimberly shared that she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She found a lump which required a lumpectomy, four rounds of chemotherapy and one month of radiation.

Bryan and Kimberly are not only life partners, they also became known as the “Chemo Couple” at the Cleveland Clinic. They had their treatments on the same day, got sick together and recovered together. Both Bryan and Kimberly became cancer free in September 2018! Bryan and Kimberly persevered during this emotional and physical battle with grace, a sense of humor and a joyful attitude. Whenever Bryan is asked about his health and how endured such adversity, he simply replies with a big smile, “Rainbows & Unicorns!”.
